I’m here to help. Every client is different. Recipes like “Create website, Facebook page, Twitter profile and customers will find you” do not work. I would try to understand your business situation and what your goals are. TOGETHER we will find a solution which works FOR YOU.
My business philosophy is YOU MUST be involved in the process. I’ll give you the tools available and recommendations based on my knowledge and experience, but only you can decide what to use based on your vision of the future of your company. You are a parent and it’s your responsibility to raise your baby. I’m just a specialist to help you.
Here is a very basic example of one of my previous projects.
An owner of recently opened bakery believed that besides a banner on the street and postcards she couldn’t afford any other types of promotion. But it didn’t bring significant number of people. She was thinking about newspaper ads and AdWords but her total budget was $500/month maximum. She decided to use my expertise.
Here are the recommendations I came up with and our implementation of the plan.
1.We started from creating a Facebook page and content for it. Besides basic info we made a slideshow of the cakes and pastries. To attract interest we started a baking contest, monthly specials and recipes. If you do not require custom script, you can easily create the business page yourself.
2.We designed booklets with lots of pictures and printed small quantity at Vista Print. Most of them were distributed in wedding and family related businesses.
3.She contacted local coffee shops and tea houses as well as several family style restaurants. It wasn’t enough just to call them. She delivered samples of the products along with the booklets and invitation to cross promotion.
4.She posted info in free classified and local search engines/directories.
Considering that most of this jobs the owner did herself, she was able to stay approximately in the budget. I helped with Facebook page setup, keywords rich content writing/editing, design of the booklet and slideshow production.
5.The next month we created profiles on Yelp, Twitter and LinkedIn.
6.She felt more confident and decided to create a website. We did it in WordPress. It was nothing too fancy, but she started taking on-line orders, created first newsletter for e-mail list. We registered the site in search directories and provided SEO.
7.She also contacted local schools offering discounted pastries for their events and women meetup groups offering her place for free networking.
8.The third month we created YouTube channel with general promo of the business, slideshow of the products and started 3-4 min. long culinary lessons.
9.She also contacted a local adult education academy and offered to teach “Basics of baking”. They agreed to hold the classes once a month at her store. Considering that the academy had more than 20,000 subscribers to their newsletter, it was great promotion for the store.
10.We also advised the owner on her deal to be featured at a daily deal website. The main idea was not in one day sale but in creating a long term communications with potential customers. So we slightly changed content of the website offering loyalty program and posted information about future promotions. The deal brought significant number of new subscribers of the newsletter.
By the end of third month she significantly changed her approach to marketing, has became much more knowledgeable about her options and creative. We helped her with content management, SEO, video production for YouTube and provided AdWords campaign management.
